Heartless - Gail Carriger While the story no longer focusses on Conall and Alexia, I still found it fun and engaging. The novel is more about the changing dynamics that her pregnancy has brought about. Every revelation is revealed through Alexia's investigative efforts. There is a lot of action and intrigue.

While novel does have a different focus and we don't see too much of Conall and Alexia together, you still get a full dose of Alexia acerbic wit. We also have further development of the secondary characters as well as events in the past. And of course, I can't get enough of Lord Alkedama in action. He just totally cracks me up.

I enjoy the the humor, adventure and the intricacies developed in this series. It's fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously though it does have a few outlandish moments.
