I'm a sucker for the gender bender trope in Regencies but the improbability of this particular scenario was a bit hard to ignore. I like the backstory that led to her motivation for masquerading as a man. It was just asking a bit much that she faked her death and managed to get away with inserting herself back into society without any problems. The mystery of the nasty letters did keep going to figure out who was behind it. However, I wasn't too crazy about the writing. A lot of internal monologue.
