New Crewel: The Motif Collection: More Exquisite Designs in Modern Embroidery - Katherine Shaughnessy This book is beautifully laid out and includes a CD of motifs. In the beginning of the book contains the obligatory quick explanation of the stitches used and how to do them. From there, the author has a pictionary of the motifs that have a modern feel. The page is dominated by a large picture with a side bar of what materials were used, what stitch, and finishing or tips notes. The later half contains projects employing the motifs in the book.

While l liked the new twists, I found few motifs I would spend the time executing for everyday projects. If you are looking unique motifs, this book is for you. If you are looking for a good basic collection of motifs, then you might want to check this book out of the library first before purchasing.
