This book is a wonderful primer to jumpstart yourself into ribbon embroidery.
The first part of the books gives you a quick concise description of the types of materials with adequate color photos accompanying the descriptions. The flowers are also divided into garden types and each have been classified with a particular skill level.
What I like about this particular book is that it is clean. The layout is precise, the pictures are ample and gives you a good sense of what you need to do. The instructions are clear and concise. While there are some abbreviations that might throw you if you are not familiar, she has a key in the beginning and it's not a lot to overwhelm. And that's the beauty of this book.
While this doesn't provide you in-depth explanations about ribbon work, it does provide a deeper than superficial survey of the materials, techniques and basics needed to embark on this craft. From there, you can springboard to projects employing the flowers shown. Again, each project as adequate photos of the right moments that allow you to confirm that you are doing it right.
This one is definitely going on my wishlist.
